A Schooner with… Scott Povey
Back for its second outing of 2019, this month we sit down for for ‘A Schooner with…’ Fixed Wheel Brewery’s Scott Povey. The Brummie turned Black Country brewer and his team have been providing us with first-rate kegs of the good stuff since we opened our doors nearly three years ago. It’s probably about time we bought him one of his own.

Proposed development next to 1000 Trades – we need your help
Having been turned down again by Birmingham City Council last year, the proposed development of 23 flats adjoining 1000 Trades has been put forward to an appeal with the Planning Inspector, seeking to overturn the Council’s decision.

A Schooner with… Sam Boulton
It’s been a whirlwind year for Sam Boulton at The Vanguard. Early last year he opened as the UK’s first Cocktail Bar and Meadery on a mission to serve up drinks that excite the tastebuds of Birmingham. Perched at the very top of our Frederick Street home, Sam and team are more like family than anything else. We thought it was about time time for a catch up.
