What a way to celebrate the start of the Christmas month as Phil Thomson’s Arts Lab welcomes the return of one of the Midlands most in-demand artistes, with new songs and a haunting back catalogue. There will be time for the irrepressible Lee Benson to launch his new novel and Phil himself to take a little bit longer over his poetry. With a musically supporting spot and their own take on titles, you’ll also find yourself wonderfully distracted by singer songwriters Lauren Hoyle & James Leese. Birmingham Jazz Presents: Paul Clarvis/Liam Noble & Orquestra Mahatma 7.45pm

A double bill of the unique duo of Paul Clarvis & Liam Noble performing the whole of West Side Story in the first set followed by a second set from Orquestra Mahatma. Paul Clarvis was the favourite drummer of Leonard Bernstein and he performed and recorded with the great master composer many times over the years.  In celebration of that time Paul and Liam present the whole of West Side Story in a one medley set; in their unique way.
