About Event

Few individuals have left as enduring and wide-ranging a mark on women’s political representation in the UK as Nan Sloane. Over the course of her career, she has equipped hundreds of women with the skills and confidence to step into political life, while also documenting and bringing to light the overlooked stories of the UK’s early women politicians.
Many of those she has mentored have gone on to stand for election and serve as MPs, with several becoming prominent and influential figures on the national stage.
Her unwavering commitment to expanding women’s presence in public life has played a significant role in reshaping opportunities for younger generations. The landscape facing young women today stands in sharp contrast to that of Sloane’s own childhood – or does it?
Join us for a deep-dive into how far we have come – and how far we have yet to go.
