Many will be aware of the ongoing planning application for a development of flats next to 1000 Trades, which has the potential to affect the bar as well as neighbouring businesses and has been consistently opposed by many in the Jewellery Quarter.

With the Council’s decision to three times reject the proposals an appeal has been lodged with the Planning Inspector, who will hear the case on Tuesday 14 May. This hearing is the next, and potentially final, stage in this process. 1000 Trades would like to thank our patrons for all the expressions of support we have received and are hopeful that the Inspector will uphold the Council’s decision – please keep your fingers crossed for us!

Any member of the public is welcome to attend the hearing; it will take place from 10am on 14 May at One Lancaster Circus, Queensway, Birmingham B4 7DJ.
