December i_dsc1374s always a busy month in this industry; people are coming and going so often it’s hard to tell if you are doing so yourself. So it must have felt for the good folk at The Vegan Grindhouse.

The Midlands streetfood stalwarts took over the 1000 Trades’ kitchen on Mondays throughout December for their take on a festive spread offering an attractive alternative for the people of Birmingham and were well-received by guests and staff in equal measure.

Moving in to our kitchen and out again four times cannot have been easy, but they did so _dsc1321without breaking a (visible) sweat and took the service in their stride with a smile, even as they got busier and the pub was full of delighted dinners the week before Christmas. Easy – or so they made it look. We’re sure it was anything but.

As for the food, it was simply and wholesome, delivered consistently and of high quality in good time. Just watch out for the homemade chocolate fudge cake – one piece can quickly turn into two and then a fridge full for the next two_dsc1256 days…you have been warned!
