Salt & Earth @ 1000 Trades Serving all day Monday-Saturday

Renowned Birmingham chef Niki Astley is to move in to the 1000 Trades kitchen as the semi-permanent resident, bringing an evolving menu of small plates to suit all tastes whilst overseeing an occasional series of pop-ups and collaborations from some of Birmingham best up and coming chefs throughout the year:

“We’re excited to be deepening our relationship with 1000 Trades by moving in permanently to the kitchen. We’ve decided to take what we’ve learned are successful dishes and adapt our format to fit a wider clientele, hopefully creating menus that are delicious, familiar and exotic at the same time. We’ll also be offering a selection of bar nibbles, artisan cheeses and charcuterie alongside our current format of small plates.”

Launch event Brexart-Ink Exhibition From 6pm

Brexart-Ink is a collective of artists and friends who have exhibited together for several years. The artists have personal and professional links, common bonds regarding imagery and links exploring common passions and ideas. The art is a mixture of styles, with no restrictions in terms of content or subject matter. They will be unveiling their work at this preview exhibition showing throughout the ground and first floors until the middle of September. Free. Zero Waste Week @ 1000 Trades

Most people are aware that waste food accounts for a massive proportion of what is produced, both at home and whilst eating out…for example more than one third of all bread produced does not make it into the mouths it’s been made for. In conjunction with Slow Food Birmingham 1000 Trades will be hosting a series of one day pop-ups in Zero Waste Week with some of Birmingham’s most innovative chefs using ingredients from sources that actively reduce food waste to create delicious, varied dishes that will aim to inspire. Birmingham Jazz

Moving the feet of Birmingham for more than 40 years, Birmingham Jazz promotes contemporary jazz from some of the best local, national and international talent in a friendly club atmosphere in which to enjoy the music. Their regular Friday nights at 1000 Trades are widely regarded as the premier Birmingham Jazz Club with bands playing in the funky upstairs room which provides a great vibe for listening up close to great jazz musicians. Pivotal Music Conference Various venues

Hot off the back of the development of the Birmingham Tribes networking evenings, at 1000 Trades, the work of the Birmingham Music Coalition and the Birmingham Music Awards, September 14th 2018 will play host to PIVOTAL the first music industry conference in Birmingham. On the Thursday, 1000 Trades will host the opening party, with panel discussions taking place throughout the day on Friday. BIRM (Birmingham Independent Record Market) will also be showcasing some of Birmingham’s

Featuring panelists from companies such as Sentric Music, AWAL, Resonate COOP, WARM and ROTOR Videos and topics to be covered including Streaming and it’s Licensing, Mastering, PR, Hit Song to Hit Record and the New Technologies you can use. ​

The evening will also feature set of showcases curated across the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham playing host to a horde of genres. ​
